“Breast check” - comprehensive approach to early detection of breast cancer for vietnamese women

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women, the current worldwide incidence is 23,8% the mortality is 15,4%. As the reporting of Globocan 2022, Vietnam has 28,9% breast cancer of total cancer in both sexes. The early detection of breast cancer in Vietnam is still low rate, leading to a high mortality (8,3%). Intensive breast cancer screeing and preventionn plays an important role in early detection, increasing the likelihood of successful treatment and reducing mortality. According to actual context and demographic characteristics, health check habits and access to screening methods, breast research group of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy tested breast cancer risk screening in the period of 2022-2023 with a questionaire and out of hospital ultrasound on 3028 women. The purpose of this article is to propose for a comprehensive approach in breast cancer screening through the “Breast Check” package, that is easy to implement and feasible for Vietnamese women at any risk levels of breast cancer.
