Abstract

Objective: This study evaluates the effectiveness of treating great saphenous vein incompetence using the ELVES Radial 2 Ring laser at the Imaging Department of Thanh Hoa General Hospital.
Methods: A case series report was conducted at Thanh Hoa General Hospital in accordance with standardized medical records and management documentation.
Results: Among the 18 interventions performed on the great saphenous vein, the rate of bilateral venous incompetence was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Before the intervention, the mean diameter of the mid-thigh segment of the great saphenous vein was 6.7 ± 2.0 mm, and the reflux time in the mid-thigh was 2051 ± 969.3ms (greater than 0.5 s). Following the intervention, the veins were completely occlusion after one month in 18 cases, after three months in 16 cases, and after six months in 13 cases.
Conclusion: Great saphenous vein incompetence was characterized by an average diameter greater than 5 mm and a reflux time exceeding 0.5 s. After six months of treatment with the ELVES Radial 2 Ring laser at Thanh Hoa General Hospital, the veins showed complete occlusion in 100% of the cases (n = 13).
