The socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new context - Values and implications for Vietnam

Abstract

The 19th National Party Congress of the Communist Party of China was held on October 2017. On the basis of the analyzing international and domestic contexts as well as the internal condition of the Party, the Congress posed an important viewpoint, stating that socialism imbued with Chinese characteristics is entering a new era; and defining the socialist ideology in the Xi Jinping period (also known as Xi Jinping ideology) as the lodestar for the Party. The article outlines and analyzes the main contents of socialism imbued with Chinese characteristics in the new era, which concretized in Xi Jinping ideology; points out its values and suggests some implications for Vietnam.
