Promoting the supervisory role of the People’s Council in ethnic policies in Đắk Nông province

Abstract

In the current period, the effective implementation of ethnic policies is the foundation for promoting socio - economic development. Much attention has been paid to this viewpoint by our Party and State. The Documents of the 13th Party Congress stated: “Effectively mobilizing, allocating, using and managing resources for developmental investment with a view to creating fundamental economic, cultural and social changes in the regions where there are ethnic minorities”. Implementing the Party’s views and policies in recent times, Dak Nong Province has laid focus on strengthening and promoting the People’s Council’s supervisory role in ethnic policies and achieved remarkable results. However, in practice there are still some limitations and problems. The article evaluated and analyzed the practical issues, and proposed a number of basic solutions to promoting and improving the effectiveness of the People’s Council’s supervisory work upon ethnic policies in Dak Nong Province in coming years.
