Abstract

The article focuses on clarifying the theoretical issues about the “new era of development”
- the period of vigorous growth and prosperity of the Vietnamese nation. The author looks
at the process of national development through pivotal historical eras: from the period
of regaining national independence and unifying the country to the epoch of renovation
and international integration. Vietnam is preparing to enter a new development phase
towards a modern society, a rich people, a powerful country characterized by democracy,
equality, and civilization. The foundation of the new era includes five groups of factors:
achievements of 40 years of renovation; the epochal shift; the leadership role of the Party;
the superior nature of the socialist regime; and the consensus between the Party’s will and
the people’s aspiration. By that means, the article clarifies key strategic directions such as:
innovations in leadership methods, streamlining of the apparatus, development of green
economy, digital transformation, personnel work, and all- encompassing international
integration. The article asserts the importance of national development aspirations based
on scientific theory and national spirit.
