Abstract

The article focuses on studying models of specialized support models for people with disabilities in Australia and the potential application of these approaches in the context of Vietnam, where limitations in services and policies for this group remain significant challenges. The article identifies a knowledge gap, specifically a lack of comparative studies and comprehensive evaluations on the effectiveness of disability support policies among nations, especially between a developed country like Australia and a developing country like Vietnam. Through an analysis of Australia’s policies, the author highlights the superiority of comprehensive and personalized approaches designed to sustainably improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. At the same time, by comparing these practices with those in Vietnam, the study not only provides a comprehensive view of Australia’s support system but also provides practical analysis to show how these models can be applied in Vietnam. The results show that applying Australian models can significantly improve aspects such as raising public awareness, building flexible support mechanisms, and improving national policies. The article makes specific recommendations, such as reforming the policy system, strengthening international cooperation and promoting social education on the rights of people with disabilities, with a view to building a more comprehensive support system in Vietnam.
