Studying the impact of social capital on the success of social housing projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province
Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of “social capital” on the
success of social housing projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. A formal research was
conducted by using quantitative method on a number of 250 valid survey forms. The author
used SPSS Statistics software to test and evaluate the reliability of the scales through
Cronbach’s alpha coefficient; to test the research model using exploratory factor analysis
(EFA) and multiple linear regression analysis. The result shows that there are 6 social
capital factors that influence the success of social housing projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau
Province: business network of enterprise leadership, government network of enterprise
leadership, external relationships of enterprises with localities, external relationships
of enterprises with associations, external relationships of enterprises with suppliers and
internal relationships of enterprises. Research results show that social capital positively
contributes to the efficiency of project performance of enterprises, which will positively
impact the success of social housing projects. From the results carried out, the author
has assessed and proposed solutions to helping businesses improve the project efficiency
through the use of social capital, as well as suggested policies for relevant agencies and
leaders to support and attract enterprises to participate in the effective development
of social housing projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province in particular and across the
country in general
