Abstract

Hydraulic machinery is widely used for metal deformation. A high-stiffness and high-strength frame plays a critical role in ensuring the desired product shape, dimensional accuracy, and machine durability. Design is an iterative process in which the designer must continuously address emerging issues. Similarly, the calculation and specification of hydraulic press components follow a looping process that requires problem-solving at each stage to meet all design requirements. It is well established that stiffened wall structures or rib-stiffened panels offer optimized structural performance. These configurations provide high strength while reducing weight, which in turn conserves raw materials.Based on a review of relevant literature, rib-stiffened panels were selected for the top beam structure, and stiffened wall structures were chosen for the lower beam. The authors then implemented the design and modeling of a 4 column frame for a 20 tons hydraulic press machine using Solidworks. The proposed modifications were derived from an analysis of results obtained in the previous design stage. Finally, a comparison between the final model and theoretical calculations was conducted to verify the performance and validity ofthe final prototype
