Awareness of the importance of digital economy in the age of industrial revolution 4.0

Abstract

The digital economy is one of the driving forces that promote and help businesses navigate through difficult times, especially difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic over the past 2 years. Recognizing the importance of the digital economy, over the years Vietnam has continuously developed in both quantity and quality with many successes; and the digital economy is considered one of the growth drivers in the coming decades, allowing Vietnam to achieve its goal of becoming a high-income economy by 2045. In which, the digital economy is set to 2025. will account for 20% of GDP, by 2030, the digital economy will account for about 30% of GDP. Although the opportunities and potentials are great, in order to realize the set goals, in the coming time, it is necessary to quickly develop and issue national strategies and programs on economic development. digital, digital society; reviewing, amending and supplementing legal regulations in order to complete the legal corridor, mechanisms and policies for the development of the digital economy and digital society; accelerate the implementation of the national digital transformation program on digital human resource development, enterprise digital transformation and development of the domestic digital market. This article assesses awareness of the importance of the digital economy, opportunities and challenges for the digital economy in Vietnam in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
