Abstract

The article studies the concepts of VLAN, TRUNK, DHCP and NAT in the field of computer networks, based on which the author conducted experiments through a Lab on EVE-NG simulation software. VLAN is understood as a technology that allows the physical network to be divided into many independent logical networks; TRUNK is a connection that allows data to be transferred between VLANs on network devices; DHCP is an automatic IP address allocation and management protocol; NAT is a technique for converting IP addresses and ports. Practicing on EVE-NG software helps us become familiar with the steps to configure and manage these features on network devices such as switches and routers. Thereby, we have the opportunity to apply the knowledge we have learned to real situations, from designing and configuring devices to connecting to the Internet. The article benefits those who study and research computer networks, helping them master the theory and necessary practical skills.
