Discussion on the steps of teaching the Chinese word “了” at the elementary level

Abstract

The word “了” is a very difficult grammar point in teaching Chinese. The meaning and usage of the word “了” are very complicated. In the teaching process, teachers should divide it into stages, disperse the difficulty, teach with focus, and practice repeatedly to help students gradually grasp the usage and meaning of the word “了”. The author uses the methods of document research, logical analysis, and inductive interpretation. In the framework of this article, the author gives some steps to teach the word “了” to students at the elementary level to provide teachers and students with a reference document.
