Diplomatic activities of Dai Co Viet State under Emperor Le Hoan (980 - 1005)
Abstract
The study analyzes the diplomatic activities of the Dai Co Viet State under Emperor Le Hoan towards the Song Dynasty and Champa from 980 to 1005. For the Song Dynasty, in order to maintain peace, avoid war and conflict, while still affirming the position of an independent and autonomous nation, Le Hoan had a flexible and supple diplomatic strategy. Unlike the Song Dynasty, towards Champa, Le Hoan carried out stronger and tougher diplomatic activities because this nation had blatantly harassed Dai Co Viet. On that basis, the group of authors made comments and evaluated the diplomatic activities showing the ingenuity, flexibility and toughness of Le Hoan which helped Dai Co Viet maintain national independence, creating conditions for the stable development of the country in all aspects.
