Responding to cyberbullying of high school students in Quang Ngai province
Abstract
Cyberbullying is on the rise, posing significant concerns for high school students. This study examines the current situation and coping strategies of high school students in Quang Ngai.
The findings indicate that students adopt two main coping strategies: (1) Problemfocused coping, including seeking support, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and cognitive restructuring; (2) Avoidance coping, including avoidance, acceptance of violence, self-isolation, retaliation, and engagement in harmful behaviors.
Problem-focused coping helps students adapt better, while avoidance coping may lead to negative consequences. The study highlights the need for educational programs to equip students with healthy coping skills against cyberbullying.
