Design and organization of teaching the STEM topic “Natural hand sanitizer” in the grade 6 natural sciences
Abstract
The STEM education model, which integrates real-world problem-solving with standardized knowledge and skills, aims to develop students' competencies and character. This multidimensional interactive approach facilitates natural knowledge acquisition, hands-on experimentation, self-directed learning, and practical application in everyday life. However, the adoption of STEM education remains limited, leading to challenges in its widespread implementation. This study proposes the design and organization of teaching the STEM topic "Natural hand sanitizer" within the thematic strand "Substance and Their Transformation" in the Grade 6 Natural Sciences curriculum. We conducted a pedagogical experiment at Le Hoan Secondary School, Phu Yen province and achieved positive results, contributing to improving the quality of teaching in secondary schools.
