Proposed solutions for protection of marine resources by space and time in Ba Ria - Vung Tau sea waters
Abstract
ased on fishery data in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province collected from September 2020 to August 2021, combined with meteorological and oceanographic parameters, it is concluded that the province's marine areas are changing by season. Analysing the spreading speed and dispersal direction of fish eggs and larvae, we have identified a marine protected area for marine fisheries living resources, including: Ganh Rai bay (Vung Tau city); the coastal zone of Xuyen Moc district; and the adjacent regions of Ho Chi Minh City's maritime boundary and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province inshore centre region. Marine species in Ba Ria - Vung Tau spawned all year round, primarily in February-April and October-November period. This study's results served as scientific and practical evidence, suggesting solutions for spatial and temporal protection of marine fisheries living resources, providing efficiency and sustainability management, planning and economic development in Ba Ria - Vung Tau fisheries.
