Application of information technology in document borrowing and returning management at Tay Nguyen University Library

Abstract

Borrowing and returning process is a fundamental problem of libraries in general and librarians in particular. Manual management of borrowing and returning as done in the past posed many challenges in basic lending and returning tasks, making it difficult for statistics, monitoring and management. The application of information technology in the management of borrowing and returning documents at Tay Nguyen University Library has been a supportive tool for the library in the management of book borrowing and returning in the present time. Through integration with the existing educational database of the University, tasks such as statistics and synthesis have become more convenient and accurate. In addition, the outcomes of this project also benefit students in easily searching for documents as well as making the task of verifying borrowing and returning results more intuitively and accurately.
