Non-contact single-target heart rate and breath measurement solution using shortwave radar technology
Abstract
This paper presents a medical solution using shortwave radar technology that allows the measurement ofhuman heart rate and breath without physical contact, thereby ensuring maximum confidentiality for patients and safety for doctors. Shortwave radar technology with a frequency of 60GHz with the principle of continuous frequency modulation (FCMW) to measure and detect frequency signals from the human body through a scan signal sent from the radar to the chest and collect the receiver signal for processing. Those signals are caused by microscopic movements of the heart and lungs that change the reflex frequency. By processing complex algorithms, the system can analyze subtle changes and calculate heart rate (BPM) and respiratory rate (RPM) parameters. The outstanding advantages are convenience, safety, and non-invasiveness that allow continuous monitoring even if the subject has an extremely serious infectious disease in a medical setting. This technology has extremely large applications in telemedicine and examination, patient consultation, child care.
