Analyze influence of bridge foundationstiffness to dynamic behavior of the bridge pier

Abstract

Condition assessment of the bridge pier is an important problem, this work helps to early detect the irregularities of the piers as well as the link system of the piers to propose timely solutions. During the assessment process, it is very important to choose parameters that are sensitive to changes in the structure. In this paper, we focus on analyzing the effect of bridge foundation stiffness to dynamic behavior of the bridge pier. Through simulation by finite element method, the paper also shows the obvious changes of piers and beam frequency when the bridge foundation stiffness changes. This result is useful for diagnosing the bridge foundations and piers later.
