Improving the effectiveness of training high-quality human resources for the intelligent transportation sector in Vietnam today
Abstract
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) constitute an emerging field that contributes significantly to the implementation of the national digital transformation agenda and the development of the country’s technical infrastructure. As a new domain characterized by the integrated application of interdisciplinary knowledge-encompassing transportation engineering, information technology, and digital technologies -ITS requires a highly qualified workforce. Although this field has received attention and investment and has achieved certain initial outcomes, ITS education and training at universities and colleges specializing in transportation technology still face several limitations due to its novelty. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the workforce requirements and characteristics of the ITS sector, assess the current state of human resource training, and propose solutions to improve the quality of education, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the ITS industry.
