Solutions to enhance digital competence for lecturers and students to meet workforce requirements of a green and sustainable economy
Abstract
In the context of digital transformation and the strategic orientation toward a green economy, the demand for a workforce equipped with strong digital competence and a sustainability-oriented mindset has become increasingly urgent. This paper analyzes therole of digital competence among lecturers and students in developing a high-quality workforce for the green economy. Based on a synthesis of international studies, an analysis of education policies, and empirical surveys conducted in Vietnam, the study proposes four main groups of solutions: (1) developing a digital competence framework for lecturers and students; (2) strengthening the integration of green technologies into education and training; (3) innovating digital pedagogical approaches; and (4) building a digital learning ecosystem that supports lifelong learning. The research findings provide a scientific basis for universities in formulating training strategies to meet the requirements of green and sustainable development.
