Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a dedicated printed board circuit using a MEMS (Micro-ElectroMechanical System) accelerometer to collect data, assess and monitor the status of the structure. This device connects with two 3-axial accelerometers ADXL345 and ADXL355 to measure the acceleration of the structure, specifically a steel beam model at the laboratory of the University of Transport Technology. The results are compared with the reference vibration assessment device SDA-810C and numerical simulation using the Finite Element Analysis method. The analysis and comparison cases show that the system ensures accuracy and sensitivity when compared with commercial sensors. The device includes the complete hardware and software, giving results that meet the requirements, saving production costs and being convenient in use.
