Human resource development for luxury resort tourism in Vietnam: current issues and strategic directions
Abstract
This paper examines the rapid development of high-end resort tourism in Vietnam and the emerging requirements for human resources in the context of digital transformation and luxury travel trends. By analyzing the current workforce supply and the limitations of existing training systems, the study highlights the gap between the competency standards required by 4–5-star resorts and the qualifications of available labor. The paper proposes key solutions, including international-standard training models, enhanced university–industry partnerships, improved technological capabilities, and clear career development pathways for resort personnel. These solutions aim to ensure a high-quality workforce that supports the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s luxury resort sector..
