Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has
comprehensively affected the country’s socioeconomics,
but
how
has
it
affected
a very
sensitive
audience,
lecturers of universities in general
and the University of Economics - Technology
for Industries in particular? This study uses
04 conventional research methods, including
document analysis and synthesis, experts,
sociological investigation, and psychological
tests, to comprehensively assess the impact of the
Covid-19 pandemic on lecturers, and at the same
time focus on assessing how those effects affect the
mental health of lecturers. The results show that
two-thirds of lecturers’ mental health is affected:
90.4% had one or more psychological conditions.
Regarding mental health, 24.7% suffered from
anxiety, 19.2% suffered from depression, and
15.1% suffered from mild to severe stress. The
male gender has higher anxiety and stress than the
female, but the same level of depression falls in the
age group from 33-54 with an income of less than
10 million and has to take care of 2-4 people. These
are alarming numbers for the university board to
have solutions to limit the negative impacts of the
pandemic on lecturers’ mental health.
