Abstract: By using conventional research
methods in Physical Education and Sports, the
article has assessed the current situation of
teaching and learning chess at Hanoi University
of Sports and Education. The results show that
the conditions for teaching and learning chess
meet the requirements well, but the learning
motivation of students is not clear, the initiative
and self-discipline in learning is not high, the
arrangement The students’ self-study time and
methods are limitedộ Therefore, the students’
learning results in Chess are not in-depth, and
they are at good and average levels.
