Abstract

Using conventional scientific research
methods to assess the status of extracurricular
sports activities of high school students in
mountainous districts of Binh Dinh province
on the following aspects: Actual situation of
leadership direction, awareness, content, form,
motivation and training needs of students in
extracurricular sports. The results show that:
Leadership and direction of extracurricular
sports activities have been paid attention
but the effectiveness is not high; Students
practice extracurricular sports with diverse
content and forms, highly dispersed in both
boys and girls; students have a great need to
practice extracurricular sports and have a
relatively sustainable motivation to practice
extracurricular sports. These are important
bases to implement appropriate solutions to
improve the effectiveness of physical education
for high school students in mountainous districts
of Binh Dinh province.
