EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS OF FUKUZAWA YUKICHI IN HIS WORK AN ENCOURAGEMENT OF LEARNING AND IMPLICATIONS FOR EDUCATION REFORMS IN VIETNAM

Abstract

An Encouragement of learning is one of the works that had a profound influence on the development of Japan in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century by Fukuzawa Yukichi (1834-1901). His legacy is great, of which education thoughts hold a critical position. Educational thought in his study Encouragement of learning covers many different aspects such as the role, targets, purpose, content and methodology of education. Fukuzawa Yukichi’ thoughts are not only meaningful to Vietnamese thinkers at his time, but also for the country’s current education reforms
