Renewable Energy Supply Chain and Energy Security: State of Play and Recommendations

Abstract

This paper analyzes select recommendations from renewable energy sector industry reports to arrive at policy recommendations for VietNam’s renewable energy industry and its broader energy sector and national energy security at large. As geopolitical instability rises and great power rivalry mounts, the paper emphasizes VietNam’sneed for a more robust development of its renewable energy manufacturing supply chain, especially storage battery energy storage systems, and argues for the creation of a national strategic stockpile of renewable industry components.
