Developing Economic Zones in Hung Yen Province: Practical Basis and Development Orientation

Abstract

In the context of global supply chain restructuring and increased competition for investment, economic zones are considered a crucial policy tool to promote industrial development and enhance local competitiveness. This article analyzes the role and development orientation of economic zones in Hung Yen province, based on an assessment of the province's economic and industrial indicators for 2015-2024 and the context of expanding development space following the merger with Thai Binh province. The analysis shows that the province's economic scale, industrial zone system, and FDI inflow have increased rapidly, creating a favorable foundation for the formation of new growth poles. Based on this, the article proposes several policy orientations to develop economic zones in Hung Yen that are linked to regional integration, foster high-value-added industries, and enhance the effectiveness of investment attraction in the coming period.
