The status of local governments of Vietnam after 10 years of implementing the 2013 Constitution and suggestions for innovation

Abstract
The 2013 Constitution was promulgated with numerous innovative provisions, many of which were on the institution of local government. To assess the legal framework on the organisation of local government after a decade of implementing the Constitution, this article analyses and comments on the achievements and challenges of the development of laws on local government in that period, thereby proposing some suggestions for the next phase in reforming the laws on local government.
