Abstract
To this day, there is a widespread belief that only humans can be creative. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology challenges this perception. The article presents the traditional viewpoint of intellectual property law that creativity is a natural human activity and, therefore, only works created by humans are protected. Furthermore, the article explores various perspectives on whether AI can participate in the creative process to a certain extent. Thereby, the article determines that to address the problem of protection for works created by AI, first we must clarify the relationship between the process of AI creating works and the human-centred perception of traditional copyright law.
