The trend of humanisation of criminal law of the Russian Federation and the issues raised for Vietnam
Abstract
: In the context of globalisation and the strong development of trends of legal reform, researching the trend of humanisation of criminal law in countries with legal systems similar to Vietnam, which include the Russian Federation, has become urgent. Studying successful reform models not only deepens the understanding of changes in legal policies but also provides solid theoretical and practical foundations, contributing to the process of improving criminal law in Vietnam. This article will clarify the theoretical issues and highlight some notable actual achievements of the trend of humanising criminal law in the Russian Federation. It will also analyse the initial development process of criminal law in Vietnam as a basis for adopting elements of this trend. Based on the lessons learnt from the trend of humanisation of criminal law in the Russian Federation, the article presents some opportunities and prospects for the future, aiming at promoting the trend of humanisation of criminal law in Vietnam, thereby better protecting and ensuring human rights and citizen’s rights.
