The role of the state in developing the green bond market in Vietnam
Abstract
The green bond market is where the issuance, trading and exchange of green bonds take place. Despite being a specific part of the bond market in particular and the stock market in general, the emergence and development of the green bond market faces many difficulties and challenges due to its characteristics. However, considering the requirements of raising awareness and responsibility of subjects in economic and social life on environmental protection, developing the green bond market an urgent issue in providing capital for activities to meet sustainable development goals. To solve the difficulties and challenges that hinder the development of this market, the role of the State needs to be fully and correctly identified. This article aims to highlight, analyse and evaluate the State’s roles in the development of the green bond market, thereby identifying solutions to optimise the State’s roles in promoting the safe and effective development of this market.
