Abstract
The regimes of visitation and contact with relatives are important criminal enforcement mechanisms that are recognised by international standards and norms, alongside Vietnamese law. For prisoners under 18 years old, maintaining connections with relatives is crucial for their healthy development and legal awareness, thereby facilitating their successful reintegration into society upon release. This article conducts a comparative analysis on the regime of visit and contact with relatives of prisoners under 18 years old under Vietnamese law and international standards, clarifies the existing inconsistencies and limitations, and proposes some recommendations to improve the law.
