Abstract
The right to die is no longer a novel issue, but this right is not yet recognised in Vietnam. Meanwhile, many countries, including the Netherlands and some states in the United States, have legalised this right by developing, promulgating and enforcing laws on the right to die. In Vietnam, the people do want to have this right recognised, but this is not realised due to many reasons. Thus, the article analyses the basic contents of the Netherlands and the United States’ laws on the right to die and presents some experiences for Vietnam to reference in legalising this right in the future.
