The role of securities companies in the derivatives market - Some comments from the perspective of regulatory law

Abstract

Securities companies play a particularly important role in the stock market in general and the derivatives market in particular. In each type of market, the role of securities companies has certain differences that need to be clearly recognised and require corresponding legal adjustments. This article clarifies the role of securities companies in the Vietnamese derivatives market. At the same time, it analyses relevant current legal provisions to evaluate the achievements as well as the existing shortcomings and limitations that affect the implementation and promotion of the role of securities companies. On that basis, the article proposes a number of solutions to improve the law to maximise the role of this important entity in the derivatives market.
