Improving Vietnam’s civil procedure law for sustainable development

Abstract

Sustainable development is a common development trend worldwide and is amongst the fundamental requirements set by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the formulation and improvement of the state in general and the formulation and improvement of laws - which entail civil procedure laws - in particular. This paper studies sustainable development, the connection between sustainable development and the formulation and improvement of civil procedure laws, analyses and assesses the Vietnam 2015 Civil Procedure Code, thereby proposing several ideas for the improvement of Vietnam’s civil procedure law to better meet the requirements for sustainable development going forward.
