Solutions to ensure the implementation of some new points of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance
Abstract
Social insurance is considered the main pillar in Vietnam’s social security system, playing an important role in realising social progress and equity, contributing to preventing, minimising and overcoming risks for employees. Amendments and supplementations to the 2024 Law on Social Insurance have contributed to improving the social insurance regimes, aiming to ensure the rights of beneficiaries, expanding the beneficiaries, benefit levels, and more specific and stricter implementation. This article clarifies the new points of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance on retirement, maternity, sickness benefits, social insurance books, and mechanisms for addressing the evasion of mandatory social insurance contributions. From this, the article proposes some solutions to ensure the effective implementation of the law in the near future.
