Abstract
The ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement (ACIA) clearly defines the scope of dispute settlement, institutions for dispute settlement, measures, steps and procedures for settlement of ASEAN investor-state disputes. The paper briefly introduces the course of formation and development of the ISDS mechanism of ASEAN; closely analyses the content of the ISDS mechanism under the ACIA and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of this mechanism under operation.
