Vietnam’s ten-year practice of participating in WTO’s dispute settlement mechanism

Abstract

The paper analyses Vietnam’s practice of participating in WTO’s dispute settlement mechanism in a specific position such as being the claimant, being the third party and  involving in  meetings of the dispute settlement bodies. The analyses show that besides having some successes, Vietnam faces many difficulties and challenges. On that basis, the paper offers some suggestions to promote the participation of Vietnam in WTO’s dispute settlement mechanism and assist Vietnam in gaining benefits from the participation.
