Abstract
In the context of international integration, the protection of Vietnamese citizens living abroad has become a regular and increasingly complex task that demonstrates the responsibility and prestige of the State towards citizens and international community. The article analyzes the development of the Communist Party of Vietnam's viewpoint on citizen protection, which is reflected in the Resolutions of the XIIth and XIIIth National Congress. It then analyzes the current law and the practice of citizen protection of Vietnam; proposes viewpoints and solutions to complete current laws and institutions in order to realize the Party's goal of improving the efficiency of citizen protection.
