Interpretation of investment treaties in dispute settlement practise – Empirical lessons for Vietnam

Abstract

By analysing regulations on interpreting competence and demystifying dispute settlement bodies’ interpretation practises, the article proposes some empirical lessons for Vietnam in resolving disputes involving international investment treaties, of which Vietnam is a member, and provides some recommendations for future treaty negotiations.
