The innovations in legislative technique and content of the Penal Code of the Le Dynasty

Abstract

The Penal Code of the Le Dynasty is one of the typical legal cultural heritages of Vietnam. The Code contains many progressive points and values, which the field of legislation should inherit. In this article, the authors point out the innovations in technique and content of this Code in comparison to the codes of the Ly, Tran dynasties and feudal Chinese law, thereby suggests some lessons for Vietnam’s legislation to continue learning from both the technical and content values of this Code.
