Abstract
The paper discusses the main contents of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents such as: the objectives and the scope of application of the Convention, the competence to issue the title “Apostille”, the main duties of the member states and the e-certificate abolishing the requirement of legalisation for foreign public documents. It analyses the need for Vietnam to acceed to it as well as things need to be done when Vietnam acceeds to this Convention.
