ASEAN SOCIO-CULTURAL COMMUNITY – OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES

Abstract

The paper briefly introduces the course of formation of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, legal institutions for coordinating ASEAN socio-cultural cooperation acctivities and the cooperation contents stated in the related documents of ASEAN. On that basis, the author evaluates the practice of implementing ASEAN socio-cutural cooperation activities and offers some comments on opportunities and challenges in the socio-cutural area that ASEAN needs to be aware of in the coming time.
