The Communist Party of Vietnam - A civilized Party according to Ho Chi Minh’s thought on party building

Abstract

President Ho Chi Minh affirmed that “Our Party is moral and civilized”. Countless cadres and party members have striven, trained and sacrificed to achieve that glory. Today, as the Party leads the nation in building a strong, prosperous, civilized and happy socialist Vietnam, it increasingly demands that the Party truly be moral and civilized. The Party must renew its thinking, reaching a high level of intellect and theoretical expertise, successfully applying it in practice; being independent, self-reliant, self-sufficient, and upholding pure internationalism. The Party must truly be for the country and the people, placing national and people’s interests above all else; constantly improving revolutionary ethics and resolutely combating individualism. The Party is a model of intellect, vanguard spirit and pure morality.
