Foreign policies and guidelines of the Party and State of Vietnam in the renovation period

Abstract

In the achievements of nearly 40 years of renovation, there are great contributions from the foreign policy of the Party and the State of Vietnam. The foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the renovation period reflects a new approach to foreign affairs, on the basis of independence and self-reliance, grasping and correctly forecasting the world and domestic situations; firmly maintaining foreign policy principles and mottos, creating rich, flexible and unique contents, with the highest goal of protecting independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the country, putting the interests of the nation and people above all. The achievements of Vietnam’s foreign affairs in nearly 40 years of renovation have built a school of foreign affairs and diplomacy in the Ho Chi Minh era, imbued with the soul, character and spirit of the Vietnamese people.
