Some achievements, limitations, and experiences in applying and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh’s thought in building the country and defending the Fatherland (1976-1986)

Abstract

In the period of 1976-1986, after the country was unified, on the basis of creatively applying Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought, the Party led the implementation of the tasks of building a socialist country and defending the Fatherland nationwide. The article focuses on clarifying the important achievements and limitations in building the country and defending the Fatherland in the period of 1976-1986, thereby drawing theoretical and practical lessons to affirm that the renovation initiated and led by the Party over nearly 40 years is wise, correct and must continue to be steadfast to successfully achieve the goals of national independence and socialism in the new era of the nation today.
