Foreign policies and guidelines of the Party and State of Vietnam in the renovation period
Abstract
The foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the renovation period reflects a new approach to foreign affairs, based on independence and self-reliance, grasping and correctly forecasting the world and domestic situation; firmly maintaining foreign policy principles and guidelines, creating rich, flexible and unique contents, with the highest goal of protecting national independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, putting the interests of the nation and people above all. By the 13th National Party Congress, the development of thinking in building foreign policy and guidelines had reached a new height. The first part of the article was published in the Party History Journal, Issue 2-2025, summarizing the foreign policy and guidelines of the Party and State through the Congresses from the beginning of the renovation to 2020.
