The development of the Party’s thinking and foreign policy in nearly 40 years of renovation - Implications to 2030, vision to 2045
Abstract
Vietnam’s foreign policy in nearly 40 years of renovation was initiated at the 6th National Party Congress (1986), gradually supplemented and perfected through the following congresses. Developing foreign policy thinking, especially regarding the international context and the country’s requirements and tasks, is the decisive factor influencing foreign policy planning. The article focuses on analyzing the process of developing foreign policy thinking under the impact of the international context along with the process of building and perfecting Vietnam’s foreign policy in the renovation period, at the same time suggesting implications for Vietnam’s foreign policy in the new era to 2030 with a vision to 2045.
