Abstract

The October Revolution in Russia in 1917 was the first proletarian revolution in the world to take place and succeed, which “opened a new era in the world history” - the transitional era to socialism on a global scale. With the victory of the October Revolution and the establishment of the Soviet State, not only was the fate of the Russian nation changed, but a new chapter was also opened for the international communist and workers’ movement, strongly encouraging colonized and dependent peoples to rise up in the struggle for independence and freedom. Following the path of the October Revolution, under the leadership of the Party, after 15 years of persistent and determined struggle, the Vietnamese people rose up as one to “use our own strength to liberate ourselves”, winning national independence and founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Though time has passed, the October Revolution in Russia and the August Revolution have left enduring values for the history of the Vietnamese nation and for humanity.
